Across the internet, it's pretty easy to find a lot of resources that cover various aspects of Pokemon Go. There are sites dedicated to PvP, Raids, Catching/Collecting, or just comprehensive looks at the game as a whole (thanks for making us one of your resources for that, by the way!). However, few have ever come close to the scope and nature of The Silph Road. Definitely the internet's premier community for Pokemon Go, it transcends the nature of a guide-site and has long since extended into something of kin to a collectiveorganism all its own, with thousands of players acting as neurons to help the community that uses it move in the most efficient way possible. And while it's true that Niantic has sort of left this dedicated community behind for some reason, we here at Gamepress still very muchsupport and admire the continued presence of the Silph Road community on their dedicated Reddit. And since we've got Go Fest going on hot-and-heavy right now, we thought it would be fun to take a look at a few of the relevant Silph Road posts in hopes of spreading that knowledge a bit farther in the community.
So sit back and relax, as we take a look at some of the currently trending topics posted by travelers on The Silph Road.
It seems that Groudon (and probably Kyogre too?) has an increased Catch Rate for Go Fest 2023... in fact, asubstantiallyhigher catch-rate! That circle is yellow, bordering on light green, so get those Pinap Berries ready if you need candy for the big-names! Hopefully Rayquaza will be the same story, as it's going to take a lot of candy to unlock that second move to have a Mega Rayquaza that can be a Dragon attacker!Primals: Increased Catch Rate

Well YEE-HAW! Time to get out there and try for a unique Shadow Snorlax while it's still around! Just too bad we still don't have the elusive Cowboy Hat Caterpie....Shadow Cowboy Hat Snorlax

We already have a few here, so we're going to hide them below so that we don't just have a huge wall of "X Shiny, Y Shiny, Z Shiny" going on, but these are definitely worth showcasing! Note that this is likely not a comprehensive list of new/note-worthy shinies for Go Fest 2023, just a short list of a few of the ones that have been thoroughly confirmed.Shiny Pokemon Confirmations

As we've already talked about, Carbink is anextremelyimportant Pokemon not only for its ability to give Diancie Mega Energy when raided for, but its pervasive power in the Great League as well. Anyone interested in PvP should be hunting these little diamond-studded stones down, and u/talcatox waskind enough to give a full breakdown on Carbink availability and XL farming.Farming Carbink

Interestingly, u/teffania took to The Silph Road to highlight the experience of Go Fest without a ticket. While just about everyone has probably either purchased their ticket or decided to forego it by this point, it's an interesting look into just how much Niantic leaves out for those who don't pick up the premium experience.Playing Without a Ticket
Apparently Metagross is available from lures, and it's reported that when caught it will automatically already know its Elite Move, Meteor Mash. Chances are that the other Event Move Pokemon will also be the same case, so that's an interesting yet unadvertised bonus!Event Move Evolutions
Note that this is just a small sample of what The Silph Road still has to offer even after its sad closure, so wedefinitelyrecommend that you take a look for yourself if you haven't already. The players who frequent The Silph Roadgenuinelyknow their stuff, and information like what we've showcased above is pretty standard-fare. Thanks from all of us to all of the authors of these threads, and thanks to this wonderful community of Pokemon Go players who continue to keep the spirit of one of the great titans of our game alive!Closing
