General Hospital is the longest-running TV show in the US and is second in the world, coming behind the British television show Coronation Street.

Genie Francis as Laura Collins
Genie Francis returned to General Hospital in 2022 to continue portraying the role of Laura Spencer.
Laura is known as one of Port Charles' most iconic residents and battled the Cassadines to become the city's new mayor, all while coping with her marriage to Luke Spencer and triumphing over allegations of murder.
The character was first introduced to the show in 1977.

Michael Knight plays the role of Martin Grey, a lawyer and the son of Gordon and Florence Grey.

Prior to her 2022 return, she was last seen in February 2020, when Valentin discovered he wasn't a real Cassadine.
At the time, she appeared to him in a ghostly form.
Parry Shen as Brad Cooper
On December 10, 2021, Parry Shen returned to the soap to play Brad Cooper, a former General Hospital employee.
Lexi Ainsworth as Kristina Corinthos-Davis
In 2022, Lexi Ainsworth reprised her role as Kristina Corinthos-Davis for the show's 59th and 60th seasons.

On September 1, 2022, it was announced that Chloe Lanier will be returning as Nelle for a short time.

Kin Shriner as Scott Baldwin
Kin Shriner, who played attorney Scott Baldwin, has said that his current stint on the soap has ended.
He had previously left the show multiple times for brief stints to play other characters on other soap operas, but he was still a regular cast member on General Hospital.
He is one of the rare cast members who has been featured in the same scripted television program, in the same character, for six decades.
Johnny Wactor as Brando Corbin
Johnny Wactor, who played the role of Brando Corbin, left the show earlier this season for a short time.
After a brief return, GH then shockingly killed off his character for good.
Chris Van Etten as Chet Driscoll
Chris Van Etten, who plays the role of Chet Driscoll, wrapped up his time on GH in May 2022.
According to Soap Opera Digest, his departure came after Van Etten decided to move his family from California to Illinois.
“Doesn’t look like much yet, but soon we’ll call it home," he said in an Instagram post following the move.
"After being in California for over 12 years, that chapter is drawing to a close. Looking forward to being back with the family.”
Sean Blakemore
After rumors started circulating in February 2022 that Sean was leaving his role as Shawn, he took to social media to inform his fans that he was not let go.
He stated: “It was my decision to exit the show because of other obligations. Who knows [what’s] to come in the future?”

Evan Hofer as Dex
Fans were introduced to Evan Hofer on May 6, 2022.
He portrays the role of Dex, a character who is trying to get a job working for Sonny Corinthos.
Hofer is known for his roles in Run the Race, Dwight in Shining Armor, and Lethal Weapon.
Viron Weaver as Wiley Quartermaine-Corinthos
Viron Weaver was introduced in December 2021 as the newest recast of Michael's son.
He took over the role of the twin actors Caleb and Kyler Ends.
Weaver is also known for his roles in Fame-ish and BearCity 3.
Amelie McLain as Charlotte Cassadine
Amelie McLain made her General Hospital debut as Charlotte Cassadine on December 21, 2021.
Her debut followed Scarlett Fernandez's resignation, which she announced the day prior.
"I’m super grateful for the opportunity that @fvalentinigh and @markteschner gave me in 2016," she said at the time.
"Playing Charlotte Cassadine was my favorite and I’m sad it’s come to an end.
"I will miss my castmates and the crew and I know the fans will support the new actor playing Charlotte. Thank you for all the support!"
Robert Adamson as Michael Corinthos
Fans may have noticed a new face taking on the role of Michael Corinthos for the week of June 1, as Robert Adamson filled in for Chad Duell.
Adamson is known for his role on The Young and The Restless and fans were initially confused about why the actor took over for Duell.
Duell revealed in a tweet on the day Adamson appeared that the reason for his absence on the show was Covid-related.
In his tweet, Duell wrote, "I’m good.. I’ll be back filming next week. Was covid related. Robert did great."
Alley Mills
Alley Mills is arguably best known for her role as Pamela Douglas on The Bold and the Beautiful but will now be joining the GH family.
The news was first reported on October 7, 2022, but details on her character are still unclear.
